1. Location

Arad Airport Cargo terminal, known as SC CARGO ARAD, is placed near the international airport and the Arad free zone, and it's able to handle air cargo traffic which links western Europe to Middle East. It can be found near the border with Hungary, 30Km from the nearest border road checkpoint (Turnu) and 20Km from the nearest railway border checkpoint (Curtici).

The location permits easy access for businesses found nearby, especially from those situated in Arad, Bihor, Alba, Hunedoara - Romania and Bekes, Czongrad - Hungary, in this transportation category.

2. Advantages

The completing of this objective (dec. 2002) allows handling of cargo air traffic with all the features needed by road- air cargo traffic through using operating - stationing cargo type planes, covered storage areas, vamal checkpoint, parking space for transportation vehicles.

Actual reserved spaced offers freeze storage areas (-18 Celsius), cold storage areas (+4 C), livestock area, storage space for post services, dangerous materials, construction materials, offices, weight evaluation and labeling facilities.

4.1 Airplane bay allows simultaneous stationing of two airplanes (one of class "C" and the other of class "D").
4.2 Vehicles bay has 32 spaces for small/medium vehicles and 5 for cargo transport vehicles.
Bay has a number of 13 gates for entering cargo airport, 1.1m above ground for cargo vehicles, multi-purpose transportation and 0.6m for post services.
